Anglican /Protestant Prayer Beads

The purpose of prayer beads as a form of prayer is to help one remain focused in prayer and attentive not only to the activity of prayer but also to the presence of God and to help us take the step from "talking to God" to "listening to God."  The fingering of the beads aids in our concentration in prayer.

Anglican / Protestant Prayer Beads were created by Rev. Lynn Bauman in the mid-1980's.   Anglican / Protestant Prayer Beads meld the purpose of the Orthodox Jesus Prayer Rope and the Roman Catholic Rosary together.  This melding uses symbolism, repetition of words in prayer motion with the movement of our hands and fingers,  helping us think about and be mindful of prayer and of being in the presence of God through the use of body, mind, and spirit.  Of course, there is no right or wrong way to pray, including using prayer beads.  What is important is that you pray.
