Rev. Tommy Waites passed away January 7, 2010. He has had an amazing service to God.
Following his release from prison after serving 8 1/2 years of a life sentence, he received a pardon from the State of Alabama and was selected Citizen of the Year by the Montgomery Bar Association.
He finished the Course of Study at Emory University in Atlanta, GA and served as Chaplain of Red Eagle Honor Farm for 7 years.
Tommy became a local pastor in the Methodist Church in 1991 and served at St. Paul UMC, Union Springs from 2005 to 2009. He also traveled around the country sharing the word of God with the Tommy Waites Ministries.
Visitation was January 8th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Ross Clayton Funeral Home. Funeral services were Sunday, January 10th at 2:00 pm at Frazer Memorial UMC.
He is survived by his wife, Queenie.
