Arledge - Benjamin "Frank"

Reverend Benjamin “Frank” Arledge of Dothan died January 18, 2010, at his residence following an extended illness. He was 88. 

Funeral services were held at 2 P.M. Friday, January 22, 2010, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Randy Woodham, Larry Newton, and Eddie Littlefield officiating. Burial followed in Memory Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ward Wilson Funeral Home. The family received friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 P.M. Thursday, January 21, 2010.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Greystone United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1506, Dothan, AL 36302.

Reverend Arledge was born August 16, 1921, in Oklahoma, the son of the late Arthur Arledge and Georgia Beauford Arledge. He was a minister in the Alabama- West Florida Methodist Conference for 31 years. After retirement, he was the visitation minister at Lafayette St. United Methodist Church for most of his retirement until his illness in 2003.

He joined the military 11 days after the attack on Pearl Harbor and was stationed at Napier Field where he met his wife, Josie Clearman.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Reverend Tommy Arledge. Survivors include: his wife, Josie Arledge of Dothan; daughter, Joyce Pybus and her husband, Mickey of Florida; daughter-in-law, Linda Arledge of Dothan; brothers, Bill Arledge and his wife, Betty of Marietta, Oklahoma; Darl Arledge of Abilene, Texas; Chester Aledge of Anaheim, CA; grandchildren, Shannon Clark, Jason Pybus, Brandon Pybus and his wife, Jennifer, Maria and Michelle Arledge, two great-grandchildren, Christian Clark and Anders Pybus and numerous nieces and nephews.
