The Conference Board of Discipleship, Division of Stewardship, presents SEED CAST:  GROWING A CULTURE OF GENEROSITY Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Christ United Methodist Church in Mobile, AL.  

What is SEED CAST?  Seed Cast 2014 is a conference about generosity. There are many misunderstood concepts surrounding faith and finances. What if we took a step back and rethought our approach to finances as a church? This conference is going to explore growing a culture of generosity in our churches, where we acknowledge that God has been generous to us, and we are called to live into God’s image.

Conference Objectives?  

• Participants will gain two practical ideas that they may implement in their churches within one year.
• Churches will begin to develop a culture of generosity that will spread throughout the Alabama-West Florida Conference and beyond.
• Participants will receive information needed to lead conversations about generosity in their home churches.

Keynote speaker is Rev. Dr. Clayton Smith, Executive Pastor of Generosity, United Methodist Church of the Resurrection.  Clayton Smith is the Executive Pastor of Generosity at The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in the Kansas City area.  Dr. Smith also served for 25 years as Senior Pastor of three vital congregations in the Missouri Area.  Clayton serves his Missouri Area United Methodist Church as Pathways Partner Consultant in major gift fundraising for new church starts and leadership training for the next generation.  He is a graduate of Perkins School of Theology and completed his doctor of ministry degree in Preaching Stewardship at the Association of Chicago Theological Schools (McCormick Theological Seminary).  He and his wife, Lori, have four adult children and  two grandsons.

Cost is $45.  Cost includes lunch.
