2024-2025 Changes in Application Process for Full and Provisional Connection
Thank you for your interest in applying for Membership with the Annual Conference. To help make this application process as smooth as possible, please complete this registration by May 15th. Doing so will ensure we are able to run any needed Psychological Assessments, Background or Credit Checks, and to verify that you have met all education requirements. Without these you will not be eligible to apply for Provisional, Associate or Full Connection Membership with the Annual Conference.
The Board of Ordained Ministry (BOM) has approved several changes in the Commissioning, Associate Membership and Ordination Application Process. The packets will now be made available online in March of each year. These packets will now be due on September 19, 2024. The BOM will conduct interviews in the late fall for Provisional membership and the early winter for Full Connection membership of each year. Associate Membership interviews will be announced in the summer.
Those candidates applying for Provisional membership (Commissioning) and Associate Membership in our Annual Conference will be invited to declare their intent to apply to the Office of Ministerial Services by May 15. They will then be invited to participate in a Provisional Applicant Mentoring Process. While this process is optional, the experience of meeting with Board members to discuss process with them and other provisional candidates is strongly recommended. This will consist of monthly Zoom meetings in June, July and August with other applicants and members of the BOM. Our goal is to provide more BOM support for those applicants and create some relationships prior to interviews.
