Hurricane Ian: How You Can Help

September 27, 2022
In preparation for Hurricane Ian making landfall on the Florida peninsula, our conference will begin collecting cleaning kits (previously known as flood buckets) to be sent to areas in the Alabama-West Florida, Florida, and South Georgia Conferences impacted by this storm. We will be requesting 1,000 kits from the UMCOR depot in Decatur, AL and will also be collecting kits in each of our districts. Here are two ways you can assist in these efforts:
  1. Visit the following link to make a monetary donation. Monetary donations will be used to gather supplies for the cleaning kits as well as to help defray shipping costs for the buckets we will be receiving from the UMCOR depot in Decatur. The cost of a completed Cleaning Kit is $75. Click here to donate
  2. You can assemble cleaning kits on your own following UMCOR’s Cleaning Kit Assembly instructions. Once complete, the kits can be dropped off at a location designated by your District Disaster Relief Coordinator (DDRC). You can find a list of DDRCS here along with their contact information.
