(Montgomery, AL) Bishop Paul L. Leeland announces that Rev. Jay Cooper has been appointed to serve as pastor of Bay Minette First United Methodist Church, effective February 1, 2015. Rev. Ed Deabler, previous appointed pastor, is on medical leave of absence, which was effective December 1, 2014.
Currently serving as the executive minister at Montgomery First United Methodist Church, Rev. Cooper was ordained as an elder in the AWF Conference in June, 2014. He has served Montgomery FUMC since 2009 and is a graduate of Auburn Montgomery and Candler School of Theology.
