A Word from CFA Regarding 2024 Apportionmets

Friends in Ministry,

We recognize that although we are officially in Advent, a time of hope and anticipation, the journey here has been a long season of difficulty for so many of you. To help alleviate the burdens and concerns of these times, the Alabama-West Florida Conference Committee on Finance and Administration (CFA) has approved a plan to allocate reserve funds to help local churches with their assessed apportionments for 2024.

Earlier this year, 2024 apportionments for all churches were calculated based upon the formula approved by the annual conference. Even with the decrease to the overall 2024 budget, and applying apportioned funds paid by the disaffiliated churches, some churches’ apportionments still increased based on their 2022 reported statistics. Knowing there is still uncertainty in the outcome of this long season and believing wholeheartedly in our shared mission to make disciples of Jesus, we want to help.

For churches whose apportionments increased for 2024, reserve annual conference funds will be applied to your statement in January to offset that increase, so that your church will then pay the equivalent of your 2023 apportionments.

Our conference staff and leadership stand with you. Your mission is our mission. We are here for you. We pray this will help in your service with one another and to your communities. We give thanks to God for all of you.

With Gratitude,
