Alabama-West Florida Conference Announces New Treasurer

September 13, 2023

The Council on Finance and Administration (CFA) of the Alabama-West Florida Conference proudly announces Rev. Angie Long as the new treasurer and director of administrative services. Rev. Long is an ordained elder in the conference and is also a certified public accountant. She has an extensive background in finance and accounting and specializes in budgeting.

She follows Suzanne Jones who has faithfully served since 2018. Jones announced her retirement to conference leadership at the conclusion of the 2023 session of Annual Conference in Mobile, AL. Angie will begin her service to the conference in this capacity on September 25, 2023, and will work with Suzanne for a time of transition and training.

“We are most grateful to Suzanne for her leadership during a transitional season,” stated Mark Davidson, CFA chair. “She faithfully served our conference and her financial knowledge enabled us to navigate an unprecedented time in the United Methodist Church. I am thrilled that Rev. Angie Long will now serve in this role. Rev. Long is no stranger to our conference and understands the challenges we face in the coming years. Her expertise will enable us to take the next steps to ensure we are good stewards of our conference resources. Please join me in praying for both of these outstanding leaders as they make their personal transitions.”

Rev. Long has served as pastor to several churches in the conference over the years before her appointment in extension ministry and working in the private sector. She received her Master of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory University and completed her undergraduate studies at Auburn University of Montgomery. She is married to Keith and together they have two children, Brady and Brinkley. Angie enjoys seeing her children compete in school athletics, serving on several volunteer boards and spoiling their pets.
