The River Region Alternative Gift Fair is a new, faith-inspired, community-wide tradition which started in 2013. It aims to give area residents an alternative to the materialism that sometimes takes over our Christmas celebrations—and it seeks to align those celebrations more closely with the redemption promised through Jesus Christ. An “alternative gift” is a charitable donation which will fund a specific need in our community through one of the Fair’s 29 participating nonprofit groups. The groups include many well-known organizations as well as a few groups who are more recent arrivals on the River Region nonprofit scene. Starting at $5, you may honor your family, friends, fellow church members, co-workers, teachers, or clients by giving construction materials, medical supplies, children’s books, food, and more, to our neighbors in need.
