First United Methodist Church, Montgomery, will have a Patriotic Concert Sunday, June 29, 2014 begnning at 7:00 p.m.

This year’s Patriotic Concert has a special focus. We just celebrated the 70th anniversary of D-Day when tens of thousands of Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy. We are going to present music for our WWII veterans. There will be special commentary, a medley of World War II songs sung by our choir, as well as a medley of popular music from the 40’s played by a thirty-nine piece concert band (which has already been described as the best in Alabama). We are losing our WWII veterans every day, and we would like to take this opportunity to honor the ones we have left.

The concert will be preceded by the All-American Hot Dog Supper at 5:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
