The Conference Board of Higher Education and Campus Ministry (BHECM) will have a meeting on August 30, 2012 beginning at 10am.  The meeting will be held at the Conference Office located in Montgomery.  Lunch will be served.  RSVP is encouraged.

The purpose of our first meeting together is to begin getting to know one another, to begin understanding the purpose of the BHECM, review our mission, vision, and goals, and to handle administrative responsibilities like electing officers and assigining liasons to each of our campus ministries.

In preparation for the meeting I suggest you review what the UMC Book of Discipline says about our responsibility and authority (para. 634 in BOD 2008) and to look at the BHECM documents that are found in our section on the Alabama-West Florida Conference webpage (http://www.awfumc.org/pages/detail/377). Please review the document about the Board and Structure especially. Reading these documents will give you a better idea about the BHECM and our task together.
