Gulf Shores United Methodist Church presents Friday Night Live on July 13 at 7:00 at Thee Coffee Shop (located in Building B - Winn-Dixie Shopping Center) and features Jon Morris a singer songwriter from Pensacola, Florida. The event is free and open to the public.

Jon started playing music at the age of 13 and at the age of 15, wrote his first song with a friend. From that point, songwriting became one of his greatest passions. He recorded his first CD, a full-length project entitled “Since I’ve Seen the Rain,” during his senior year of high school and released it after graduation, selling copies at local coffee-house gigs and shows at small churches.

Life has moved quickly, from teaching middle school, to getting married and recording his first professional EP in Nashville with producer Ben Shive in March 2012. Jon is working toward pursuing music full time: releasing his new CD, touring, playing shows, writing new music, and enjoying life. He says, “I feel incredibly blessed and humbled to be on the journey I am on right now, am extremely excited about the new album, and pray that God will use my songs to speak love and truth to people.”
